Mill Bay Health Center Opens Enrollment to Kodiak Community

stethoscope heartWe are proud to announce that high quality health care and social services are now offered to the Kodiak community at our accredited, integrated care facility, the Mill Bay Health Center. Medical, dental, and behavioral health services offered by KANA are now available to all KANA employees and their families, along with the community at large. This action, supported by KANA’s Board of Directors, resulted from a series of events that culminated in KANA’s clinics achieving designation as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).

In late 2013, KANA was awarded funding under the Affordable Care Act through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that designated our village-based clinics as FQHC’s. With this designation came increased access to medical, dental, and behavioral health services for all people in our villages. In 2015, KANA was awarded funding through HRSA to provide medical, dental, and behavioral health services to all community members from our two health centers located within the City of Kodiak.

2016 will mark KANA’s 50th year of service to Kodiak. With our new expansion of service, we expect to realize increased sustainability as we continue to serve Kodiak, as we further KANA’s mission to improve the quality of life of the people we serve.
